B6. Telephones

All incoming calls on Gibby’s Electronic Supermarket business lines are to be answered within three rings.  

The standard greeting is;  “Good, (morning, afternoon, evening as appropriate) Gibby’s Electronic Supermarket, your name, speaking”

Cell phones can be used by Sales staff for operating products within the store for demonstration, but are prohibited for personal use during your shift unless during your lunch or break.  The only exception is a company issued cell phone, which is intended for business purposes only and should be set on silent.

Company stationary phones are intended for business purposes only.  Personal calls, should they be necessary, are to be kept to a minimum time period and are to be made during your lunch or break.  There are to be absolutely no long-distance personal calls on our company phone lines.

Employees found abusing personal cell phone usage or company lines during scheduled working hours could be subject to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.
