B3. Confidentiality

Matters regarding confidentiality are of the highest importance and can result in legal action should a breach of confidentiality takes place.  Areas falling under this policy are;

Corporate

Any information relating to the policies, procedures and/or operations of Gibbys Electronic Supermarket including but not limited to suppliers information, pricing procedures, internal procedures, employee data, customer data, system structures etc are not to be discussed, relayed or disclosed to any or with any persons not in direct employment with Gibbys Electronic Supermarket or, but not limited to verbal and or electronic communication. 

Customers

By law, Gibbys Electronic Supermarket and any of its employees and representatives are required to take every step possible to protect any and all information relating to a customer’s information. The information may include name, address, phone number, email address, terms/details of any transaction, credit card information etc.  Do Not leave work orders, bills of sale or BV invoices on the sales counter where they may potentially be observed by another party. Never release any information regarding a customer and or their transactions to anyone under any circumstances.  

We are all responsible for protecting any information that has been gathered by any staff member. Therefore do not throw in the garbage any papers containing any such information. All data sensitive documents are to be shredded.  

All staff enquiries whether present or past are to be directed to administration. Any employees found to be disclosing any said information above will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.
