B1. Meal Periods

Employees are entitled to a 30 minute lunch period free from work prior to 5 hours worked.

Smoke breaks are ONLY during your scheduled lunch.

When scheduled for over 10.5 hours a day employees are entitled to an additional 30 minute lunch period.
Each lunch period is to be punched out/in on the time clock.

When scheduled for over a 10.5 hour shift, there is one lunch break for 30 minutes and another for 30 minutes.
Your lunch break cannot be combined and are to be taken separately.

Your lunch is at the discretion of management and business volumes. Employees are to ensure the showroom floor has sufficient coverage at all times prior to leaving the showroom, either for meal periods, product loads, washroom, or anytime they will be away from the floor for more than a 1 minute time period.

NO two employees will ever take a meal period simultaneously within the same department.

Meal periods cannot be applied towards an early end of scheduled shift.

The 30 minute break period is unpaid time and does not count towards overtime.

Meal periods cannot be traded and or shared with a colleague.

Abuse of the meal period policy will result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.
